Canberra, Australia – The Australian Meat Processor Corporation (AMPC), the Australian Meat Industry Council (AMIC), and the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS) today launched the trial for AQIS Auditing of Export Meat Establishments over the Internet. The extensive trial will test the use of InformationLeader to verify the approved documentation, forms, and quality manuals at 17 leading meat processing plants inAustralia.
Participating meat processing plants make their InformationLeader systems accessible over the internet to AQIS audit officers. They then use InformationLeader’s powerful reporting tools and data retrieval capabilities to gain immediate insight into the plant’s current quality status. This capability is expected to result in a 50% audit cost reduction in 5 years.
The trial launch marks an important milestone towards the Australian red meat industry’s journey to become the leading meat exporter in terms of global safety and quality standards. With InformationLeader operating in the vast majority of export registered meat processing establishments inAustraliaand now with approval from the main industry regulatory bodies, InformationLeader is clearly the pre-eminent software platform for the electronic management of auditable data in a regulated environment.
